Painting in the Open Air…
The Newburyport Ten was an active group of plein
air artists based on the picturesque Massachusetts North Shore.
From the 1990s until 2023, they traveled, painted and exhibited as a group. Their numbers changed: at times as many as 12. Now time, age, and loss have reduced their numbers, and while several members are still active, this site is now a legacy site for these dedicated painters.
